New hire. Best way to get from EWR to LGA
 

I'm a new hire and looking to get some up to date info on how best to get transport from Ewr to Lga In case I'm called out for a trip there? Any info would be great.

Fastest way is NJ Transit from EWR to NY Penn Station, LIRR from NY Penn Station to Woodside, MTA bus (Q70) from Woodside to LGA. Sounds a lot more complicated than it is.

Newark airport express to grand central. Airporter to LGA. I've only taken the Newark airport express to grand central, but I see the airporter picks up right across the street. Sometimes one way car rental can be cheap too, but no idea on the tolls.

Use google transit. Joe Patroni correct but not a great choice for early reports. Uber also an option

Early reports are a problem, I think the only mass transit option before 6:00 in Manhattan may be the subway. The EWR Airport Express bus from EWR to Manhattan runs 24 hours to the NY Port Authority on 42nd St. A cab or an Uber to LGA from there is roughly $25-30.

Problem with LGA is that there are a lot of 4:50 - 6:00am shows.

thanks for the reply's. The early shows were what i was more concerned with. And seems like uber or cab is the way to go.

Also is the callout time still 2 hours for a LGA trip?

What about any airport shuttle services, between EWR and LGA (i.e. super shuttle etc?)

yeah thats what i was worried about as I'm sitting Short call the next couple of days. If i get called at 2am for an early LGA show, i guess I'm taking a cab.

Try Golden Touch Limo service in NYC..see their website for the phone number. Two years ago they had a United crew rate for ~$70 between EWR and LGA, which is cheaper than a cab from what I've heard. Tell them that you are with United and ask if the rate is still the same. They run 24/7 and I've used them for some very early shows with no problem.

The earliest report time is 2.5 hrs for EWR which is the primary airport. The rule for satellite airports like LGA, DCA, BWI, SJC, SNA for the other domiciles is get there when you get there. Don't let them tell you otherwise.

Try UBER before a cab.
