SRM list
 

Awhile back there was talk of a way to put oneself on the SRM list on CCS. Anyone know if that ever came to fruition and if so how one goes about it?

If you want to wh0re yourself out just call scheduling and have them add your name to the list.
Not my thing..but have at it. No harm No Foul.

Well I didn't ask for commentary on the merits of the SRM list, but if you must know, I have never worked extra for SRM, a couple of times I have started a day early and traded a 4 day for a 3 day and been paid for both. I don't have any desire to work more, but if the company wants to, and the contract allows, then I will work the same or less for more money.

I am assuming the ability to put oneself on the list is not available.

I prefer to work less days for more money.

If you like working more days for less…..have at it.

I never commented on the "merits". I did not comment one way or the other. It is legal, is in the contract, wh0re it out all you can then. there is no furlough. Again, not my thing but have at it. Call scheduling to be added to the list. No harm....No foul.

I would say that the phrase "wh0re yourself out" is a commentary with negative connotations.

I got the fact that the first decade or so was for "king and country" and payback for my "free" flight training, but I thought the reason I keep showing up for work now was because they stopped paying me if I didn't. Who knew I had it wrong the past couple of decades? Just curious why I'm supposed to show up for work if it's not for the money?

As someone on reserve who likes to stay at home, please everyone SRM.

This thread went downhill fast. UPA allows SRM... Nobody on furlough... If pilots want to give up time off for extra cash let em.

SRM doesn't always involve giving up extra time. Most of the time I've taken SRM it involves dropping a trip down the line which results in more time at home for extra coin. But I agree, no furloughees so who cares?

Yup, last SRM trip I got was a four day, and they bought my four day at the end of the month to keep me legal. Basically 300%. Whose the whre now? ;)

I didn't see where the OP asked if it was your thing. Who cares what your thing is. Everyone's situation is different. Maybe it's worth it to someone to trade a couple days off to make double pay every now and then to provide things for the family. No need to get all high and mighty over there.

Legalities? 30/7 etc..

The company doesn't have pilots on furlough and they're actively hiring about as many new pilots per week that they can train so I don't see anything wrong with folks picking up SRM trips. It's in the contract that we agreed to and it's a win win win situation. Pilots can get paid generously for filling a shortage (win), the company doesn't have to cancel a flight (win), and most importantly, passengers get to their destination (Big win for customers).

If pilots are on furlough, I feel it's a different situation entirely, but that's not the case at the moment.

Maybe it's during the bad times and guys are still doing it that has left a bad taste to me..because when that comes guys will still say "it's i the contract so I don't see anything wrong with it" But hopefully not.

Or perhaps the company has already burned too many bridges with me. I will do my job to the best of my abilities but no more.

To the OP you never asked me what I thought. I was trying to be tongue in cheek "sarcastic" if not a tad bit "snarky". The Moderator already hand slapped me and I will put my big boy UAL pants on and apologize. So I am sorry!

Call to get put on it and have at it. Get all you can get while it's good. But please when the bad times come do not do this...Even if it is in the contract.
