CCS Sick Call

If you put yourself on sick list via CCS, do you physically need to call off Sick leave when you're ready to come back to work???

I thought it is on a trip by trip basis now. That means you are sick for the one trip, they expect you on the next trip unless you put yourself as sick again.

It used to be you were sick until you notified you were back up. The old way it could be only one sick event for multiple trips.

That's how I understand it, could be a little off.

It's still one event for multiple trips, but you will have to call for each trip.

I forgot to mention I'm on reserve, if that matters

It does kind of. You don't have to call in for an entire block. For reserves it's single days, day by day, as required. Go to the CCS, Scheduling, Sick Call screen and pick your days, one at a time or a bunch at once, either way you want. If you have a hard-to-get medical appointment in the middle of the next month, after the PBS award comes out you can use it to show sick for that day, even if it's weeks in advance. CP may not like it (a medical appointment is not an illness (Fordham University) or, why are you forecasting an illness in the middle of a reserve block two weeks from now?(Findlandia University)) but I've never been called on it. Works great! Health comes first.

Thanks for the info. I've been rotating between standing or flat on my back for about 5 days because I was doing a lot of bending over and lifting stuff and my lower back rebelled. I am estimating I'll be better in another 4 or 5 days but who knows - my Chiropractor says it's not a disc problem just muscle strain. Anyway, thanks for your input
