Binder clips. Sounds ridiculous, but very useful and cheap. Great for holding sun Shades in place and for keeping light out in the hotel rooms... Fwiw.

In hotels several hangars usually have clips. Great for sealing the curtains together.
Works like a charm and I can apply the saved twenty-five cents I didn't have to spend on a binder clip toward my next beer.:D |

I use the hangars with clips to close the drapes at hotels if necessary.
I've been using the same travel pro luggage now for 16 years. I changed out the wheels with inline skate wheels about 11 years ago. Still rolls great. |
Since they recently added a prohibition for using opaque sun screens/shades, get these translucent cellophane sheets, available just about anywhere, and have a few of them laminated in 10 mil plastic at an office supply chain (office max, staples). Blocks sun and stiff enough to jam into a window. In the end, about $3 each.

I have a 26 inch Luggage Works, a 22 inch Luggage Works, a 19 inch Strong Bag, and a 22 inch Strong Bag. The Strong Bags are so much better than Luggage Works. After 3 months (I did abuse them dragging them around on the NYC subway) the Luggage Work bags looked terrible and had plenty of ripped pockets and broken zippers. My Strong Bags still look mostly new and are a few lbs lighter.
The doghouse rips the LW pockets. |
For those with the costco bag, does it fit okay in overhead bins? I commute on everything from CRJ, Airbus, to 737. I know it'll get gate checked for a CRJ, how does it hold up to the abuse?

Handles the abuse fine, even with a 60lb luggage works savage sitting on it in the guppy cockpit. |

Of course, the huge rolls of fat cascading over one's two-sizes-too-small pants aren't doing one any good either. And make sure to wear your old wings. |
This fits, you need to guide the front corner into the bin because it snags sometimes.
