Trout Streams near IAD or Where Should I Live
Hey Y'all.
Any insight on a town driving distance to IAD that features trout fishing? The wife and I are looking for a change. Basically, as close to a ski/mountain town feel as possible, as in lots of outdoorsy stuff going on and hopefully some good food etc. Factors: Fly fishing. Hiking/Running trails. Good schools. (Please Lord) affordable. Thanks all. |
Maybe Cumberland, MD or Deep Creek Lake. You'd also find some places in West Virginia. We don't say y'all around here.

CHO or ROA. No mountain feel in RIC.

There's a small stream over by Midway filled with blind mullet.

Mt Holly Springs and possibly Boiling Springs PA. Yellow Breeches is a famous fly fishing stream. Winter driving over south mountain and the traffic on 270/70 might be a factor. Both towns are near Harrisburg and Carlisle PA.
