Denver living question

For those in Denver...

Where's a good downtown location in the $300k-$500k purchase range? 2 or 3 bedroom, parking for 2 vehicles.

Is Denver downtown pedestrian friendly aka if you wanna take a stroll or walking your dog?

True downtown for 500k probably isn't enough these days unfortunately. 300k is not an option. Assuming you mean a single family home.

Here's some threads on Reddit of people asking Denver residents similar questions: https://goo.gl/clBJc8

Also, City Data has some good theads. Check out the general thread here as well as the 'Denver' subforum: http://www.city-data.com/forum/colorado/

$300 to $500k wont go far in downtown Denver, or the close to downtown residential areas (Capital Hill, Wash Park, Cherry Creek, etc). The suburbs vary based on location, but the price range is doable, especially the farther out you get.

It is pedestrian friendly, though the city has gone downhill a bit in the last 15 years. More homeless panhandling, and the pot law has attracted young homeless (by choice) kids.

I've lived in Washington Park for 26 years. Great neighborhood. About 2 or 3 miles from downtown with light rail service so no parking problems downtown. 450 is about the minimum though.
