Enrollment 2017

Hi, does anyone know what health insurance will be extended to Arizona this year (last year, most of the nation had Blue Cross, but AZ was Aetna), benefits has been unable to get the system to list what is available. They said they no longer provide packets, it is all online-but online only shows plans based on current zip code.

Any help is appreciated.

Not sure but looks like Aetna is the only game. They are mediocre to poor on claims approval, but if you keep on them they have eventually paid.

Thanks for your response, I appreciate the information.

I just looked and I only see Aetna in AZ. I am going to stay with the Core HDHP (an Aetna product). It gives you a $1500 fund to use on deductible/co-pays. We only used about half of it this year (it rolls over). You can also put your own tax free money in it to use for medical expenses (except monthly cost).

So the LTD payout Cap info looks the same as last year. Does the rate ever go up with inflation, Did I not read it right, or is LTD something that will slowly diminish in value?

Edited to specify the cap.

NO the max LTD benefit remains the same no matter how old you are and does not diminish in value. I don't believe there is a COLA rider attached to it.

Personally, I have supplemental Loss of License/Loss of Medical separate from ALPA or HW with coverage that does not offset what we get at United. Brings my salary up to 100% should I lose my medical.

I guess I meant - shouldn't the cap increase year by year with inflation? In 20 years, a 96k cap won't be worth as much as today.

Who did you go with for your supplemental?

Thanks,

Does that $1500 go towards the deductible? I'm considering the HDHP but the $5000 deductible makes me nervous. The "Healthy Rewards" (sounds like a TV dinner in a green box) PPO has a $1600 debit card which fully covers the $1600 deductible. Of course none of this info on non-traditional plans is published on the benefits website...:(

Does anyone use tricare reserve select with the tricare supplement plan? As a guard baby, I've always used my civilian insurance when not on orders, but I'm considering making the switch.
