But most important to us re profit sharing. Pre tax earnings excluding special items 1.6B vs 1.7B 3Q 2015.

From today's company press release.
"Excluding special items, UAL reported third-quarter net income of $997 million, diluted earnings per share of $3.11, pre-tax earnings of $1.6 billion and pre-tax margin of 15.7 percent."

2016 2015

1Q 688M 582M
2Q 1.4B. 1.3B
3Q. 1.6B. 1.7B

Don't forget that not only are we 100M ahead, but we're .8% higher profit margin YTD meaning more profit in the 20% pool.

Sorta need to see how the 4th quarter goes before we make those sort of predictions. One or 2 major snowstorms can completely change a quarter.

If you think we are getting the same as last year......

How do you explain that almost 30% less has been put away for profit sharing YTD vs. last year at this time?

$204mill put away so far vs. $277mill at this time last year.

I'm assuming most people's W-2 wages increased due to a higher rate hour, obviously not 30% but it's a fairly big jump.

That was for the quarter. Look to the right for full year. 39M less for the year than last year. So 7.2% less. But remember, pilots are the only ones (I believe) that still get the 20% bump above 6.9% margin. And year to date we are .8% above last years margin. 13.1 vs 12.3. FAs new contract for example is only 10% vs 15% last year, so their share went down.

I don't think we'll get more this year, but I think we'll be pretty close to the same % as last year unless we miss our Q4 numbers based off the fact that we get a bigger slice of the pie the higher the profit margins are.

Flyguppy 10-17-2016 06:41 PM

Ah....so 26% less was just for this Q.

7.2% less for the year so far.
