Default Delta Snap Up

From the other forum a brief comment emanating from a council citing that there might be disagreement between ALPA and the company on the Delta snap up formula. Same as it ever was.

I wouldn't be surprised if the company is trying to find loopholes. I am glad we have a strong MEC chair who has a strong track record at getting the pilots what is owed them by the contract.

Still we're putting the cart before the horse. DAL's TA voting doesn't close until DEC 1st.....

I've read through the snap-up language a few times - not a lawyer, but it sounds pretty straightforward since they didn't restructure their profit sharing. Maybe I'm missing something subtle in the wording that's a gotcha but I would imagine it's mostly that the company has no reason to put any effort yet into analyzing a theoretical outcome of a vote that's still weeks away with a further 15 day period after to sit down and agree on actual implementation. Retro is included if anything in the process of triggering this gets dragged out and it looks like it wouldn't start until after the 2nd bid period after DL signing.

I'm going to withhold any cynicism until after 15 days goes by after a theoretical DL signing if we then still have no word from the Company. Hopefully this is cut and dry and our guys are on top of it.

3% 1/17 contractual raise

And

4.42% 2/17 DAL snap up,

3% 1/18

4% 1/19

assuming their TA pass

If the company disagrees with paying the snap up we can tell them we will be waiting at home until they decide to pay us.

On Wednesday, September 28, 2016, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and United Airlines reached an agreement covering more than 9,000 airline mechanics. Details of the agreement are available on this webpage, along with presentations and materials explaining the components of this contract. Ballots will be going in the mail soon. Below is a timeline of events that will occur during the contract ratification schedule.

October 18-November 16: Teamster Representatives Will Be Coming To Your Workstation To Help Explain The Contract And Answer Questions. Please Click Here For A Presentation Schedule.

November 14: Ballot Materials Will Be Mailed To Voting Members’ Homes.

November 18: Voting Begins.

December 4: Last Full Day To Cast Ballots.

December 5: Ballots Will Be Counted At 12 p.m. (Noon) Eastern Time By BallotPoint. You May Cast Ballots Up Until 5 Minutes Before Ballots Will Be Counted.
So, DAL Pilot's TA votes close on December 1st, and the UAL Mechanics TA closes on December 5th. UAL pilots will have an agreement almost a year old by the time the votes close, but what do think the psychological impact of UA pilots getting a 7% raise is to UA mechanics.

What does their pay have to do with pilot pay? They should be looking at how their contract compares to mech contracts at other companies.

Absolutely nothing, but think about the psychology and how that could affect the outcome. It's not rational, but that doesn't matter. The membership is going to want "me too" in the form of another 7% over and above their TA.

That 4 day gap is going be a bear.

The new MX TA has a me too clause with other airline MX group , not pilots though.

I am going to go out on a limb and guess this is coming from some LEC member that still has heart burn with the extension and is still wanting to voice his dissatisfaction that it was ratified.
