Could someone recommend a beach city south of IAH for a week's getaway? Surfside? Jamaica?

Mustang Island and Port A are great and it may be worth a little longer drive down to South Padre Island

^^^THIS^^^ if you don't mind swimming in chocolate milk then Galveston or Jamaica Beach would be fine.... I'd drive further south along the coast near Padre if you have the time.
