Not on the MD.

Problem with day trips, is they tend to be built into lines with more commutes.

The 2 week intl trips go senior. Year 10, can't hold them. Many reasons, but one of the most obvious is 2 commutes in a bid period (56 days) for those that fly the long trips.

Totally, we all do it, unless you are on reserve in which case you have to travel as scheduled. It's considered "shaving days" off of your trip to hit the ground running after your last operating leg. Works better when you're younger. You can take the value of the ticket to sdf and apply it to the value of a ticket to your home or second home. Inbound, you can buy a ticket from anywhere with a few timing caveats.

I spent many years afraid to come to Z because of having small kids and the 2 week trips. That fear was for naught, they go senior. Ease of commute, large block of time off, and built in overtime (up to 14 hours a trip pairing). Traditionally, if you like them, you could get them on vto (vacation, training, open time) lines as they were fodder for great vacation time off. Now, with ocv, that may not be as true.

Is it theoretically possible to build an entire month out of day trips? I wouldn't mind living in SDF.

You don't have to build them, they already exist. And yes, it is for the whole bid period.

Sort of depends on your definition of day

Leave louisville around 4 and back by noon, or leave at 1500 and back by midnight(ish). AM or PM turns. Some people love them.

All airframes or the smaller 757/A300 types?
