Be helpful if someone could tell you just what the medical costs are, they can't. You will either get billed retroactively for UPS's costs over their contractual limit, or go to the free market which is also an unknown for the next few years. Compare that to dropping trips, 5 weeks of OCV with the slide, calling in sik, and being a general pita to have a part time job and it becomes clearer.

Heard that there were lots of tables for picture signing in the ASC. Anyone count them up?

Doesn't Medicaid start at 65? So a couple years of insurance premiums? Give us all a break. Work until 65, I don't care. But don't bitc@h when ya die at 67 and only had two years of enjoying retirement.

Captains since 1988, should have major coin. Divorce or not. Some small Ins. premium while waiting until medicaid is the lamest excuse one can make.

Does UPS offer retiree medical benefits ? (Thinking mainly the folks going out between 60-64). Or would "early" retiree be stuck with shopping the open market like ordinary folk ?

Not in that range yet so don't quote me on the number, but something around 6500 a year/family member (max 3) to go buy your own OR take that, stay in the company plan, and after the year they will bill you for the amount over that their insurance costs are per participant.

According to schedule bid summary, I have moved up 12 numbers since April 1st.
There must be lots of left over cake!

The new retirement buzz is to wait till October when all the 88 hires hit their 30th year. I bet that more guys will trickle out in small batches over the next few months...time will tell.

There will be three pushes, the one that we just had, and I haven't seen any official numbers, and then one in October when the 88 guys get their 30 years of credit. If those guys can hang on a little longer, it makes sense for them to wait until January so that they can get their vacation, sick, etc. paid out in a low income tax year, bidding vacation early so that they can get the 5 hour a day payout under OCV.

Patience.
