Interview without Internal Rec?
Anyone get an interview without an internal recommendation? I could be mistaken, but it seems like that's the key to getting an interview. Much like FedEx use to be?? Would appreciate if anyone has any insight.

One guy in my class didn't have any but that was way back. I've heard rumors of a couple more since. Definitely the exception but if your resume is strong enough I would imagine it's not a show stopper.

One word to remember:
Connection.
UPS wants a current employee to be connected to you, or they want to connect with you in person at a job fair. Go to three job fairs if you have to, I know it worked recently for a new-hire.
The exceptions (no job fair attendance and no internal recs but still hired) are rare.

I just had a third internal LOR submitted yesterday, no job fairs and my status still shows "on file." I have another probably 2 LOR I could get internally but I wish I could get to a job fair...face to face is priceless.
