Does anyone have information as to when/where the next UPS job fair will be?

If there's a job fair, any job fair - be it FAPA, WAI or anything in between - UPS will be there. They've been attending pretty much all job fairs even when we weren't hiring. Those are usually pre-planned and pre-paid months, sometimes years in advance. Good luck to you.

You need to seriously look at the schedules before you pass on pax side. Dont just look at money. This is not a happy place. People are tired all the time. Its a completly different lifestyle and with pax pay way up there is no reason to come here as a thirty something.

There's PLENTY of reasons to go to UPS as a thirtysomething beyond money - scheduling (PBS or rather lack thereof), health care, vacation, retirement (deferred money), domiciles, and a retirement bubble that is somewhat delayed compared to legacies but is looming all the same. There's also, for the first time in a long time, growth to the airline in terms of airframes and pilots.

For all the people who would steer people away from here to "better" jobs, there doesn't seem to be much attrition from people here bailing to Delta, United, AA or SWA like there was in the 90s....and "golden handcuffs"/"career V1" seems like a too-convenient excuse.

I've got buddies at Delta and United that are more tired now than they've ever been, including at the commuters. They're flying days to start, a red eye in the middle and a day trip to finish off a pairing- flipping circadian twice in five days. It wrecks them for their whole 3-4 days off before they go back to work. Want to make more money flying a wide body overseas at a pax carrier? They're not flying during the day.

At least when we flip, it's consistent for a week or two, or people are flying morning or afternoon turns staying a little closer to a daytime schedule. There's a bunch of variety here for everyone. Unfortunately some people can't sleep during the day, that's just the way it is. If they can't handle it, everyone else is hiring but nobody leaves.

And then there's the 5 percenters that will b!tch regardless of schedule and paycheck. Every company has them too.

CL300 hit the nail on the head! As a FedEx'r, I prefer us but UPS is way above Pax side to me. Box's don't beeoch either.

Thank you all for your input. UPS isn't listed for the next two FAPA job fairs and was all booked for the most recent fair in Las Vegas. It appears that a job fair is the answer to move my application to the next phase. A couple of my colleagues with similar qualifications and availability dates were sent invitations to take the Hogan after speaking with UPS recruiters in Las Vegas. The search continues.

Another thing my bud at DAL pointed out: PBS is consistently giving him 85+hr lines (into the 90's sometimes) and most of that credit is block based. I recently got a base line award that credited in the low 80's comparatively (75hr/28cal days guarantee) with 42-44hrs block and easy / mucho day flying. Take home is that we are generally paid to be away from home vs. for the hours we fly.
