Wonder why such a small class?

Is this the drop for the 15 Nov class?

I’m curious, does anybody know what aircraft/base went junior. And would you guys know the age or typical ages or guys being selected.
Thanks.

Typically ANC has been the Jr base out of class - if ANC isn't on the table, Airbus and 757 domestic seem to be what has been going Jr. of course a handful of people have been shipped out to ONT/MIA who didn't want them, but, they could very well be someone's #1 choice. it's anyone's guess...

Average age is somewhere in the late 30s...

Average newhire age in 2017 is 42.

As mentioned above, A300 tends to be the junior domestic fleet, either fleet in ANC tends to be most junior if a class has all domiciles/fleets available. SDFZ seems to be the most senior choice for newhires, if available.

Being a 91 guy my entire career I’m not too familiar with AC/base assignments, bidding and all the stuff that comes with it. Once a new hire gets assigned a base and aircraft is there a certain time frame that they must remain there or can they bid another base as long as it has the aircraft, MD for example.

18 month acft lock as a new hire. You can switch domiciles in that time frame if a bid opens and you can hold it. Only 75/767 and MD11 have multiple domiciles.

For the most part pilots are able to fly what they want and where they want. Guys who hate the sort bid international and do long legs. Those who want to minimize time away from home live in domicile and bid domestic reserve.

Then again we didn’t hired from 2007 until 2014 and nobody moved except the 108 guys laid off.
