DEN Commute...
Greetings all. I am fortunate enough to have been offered a future class date and wanted to get some specifics about commuting and everyone's opinion on where they see new hires going for the next several classes. So, I will be commuting from den; I see there are 1-3 ups jets a day, but was wondering if anyone else on here does this commute and what kind of luck they are having jumping on the pax airlines? Anyone doing the DEN-ANC commute? So -8s coming on line, is it a safe assessment that majority of new hires will be heading to ANC for a while? Thanks everyone in advance for inputs!

When I've been looking for a ride home from ANC (two legs to my city), the United flights to Denver usually seem to have open seats. There may be large numbers of non-revs that we can't see on the app though, so buyer beware and all that.

We have a lot of DEN commuters but if you book that Jumpseat 12 days out, they say it's not bad. There's also United Express and maybe SWA that does that segment.

Thanks, if we jumpseat united, do we fall below non-revs?

Mainline then United express pilots then all others TOC (time of check-in) or v.v. if on an united express flight for the JS. Seat in the back is offered to pilot jumpseaters IF there are any left after every other entitlement is fulfilled and the seats are offered in the same order as the JS. We had a discussion on DEN commute somewhere on these threads within the last year - where, I don't know.

Thanks for the info. Still learning how to navigate through the forum. I'll do a search.

Just don't let them drag a paying customer down the aisle and out of the aircraft in order to accommodate putting someone in the back

"Not bad" has a different connotation for non-commuters. Even if you set your alarm to book your jumpseat 12-days out you'll miss it every now and then. We typically make it to work just fine but yes, there's stress involved.
Once the dash 8s start arriving it'll only get worst. Almost all new hires are commuters themselves. More competition for the already limited seats.
You can do it but I disagree with the phrase "not bad"..

My comment was primarily about the Anchorage leg when commuting on our jets.
