Actually never knew or even met the guy... I guess he was on the Airbus? Have heard his name though over and over.. how sad to have earned such a ‘legacy’..

IF his daughter gets hired (not sure if you’re being serious or not) she might be a total opposite and turn out to be a really nice person to work with. So I wouldn’t hold her dad’s cloud over her.. I’m sure no one would.. This IS a very solid pilot group..

As far as hiring, I hope all the airplane issues and training delays won’t slow down our hiring..

Definitely hear where you’re coming from and no, I don’t like how it all played out. I made it clear to G550.

EVERYONE should be able to have an opinion on everything that pertains to IPA. NO ONE should ever feel excluded or vilified.

For example, I agree with some of the issues JS has brought up and truly respect him BUT I wish he was a little more tactful about it and offered solutions versus accusations? I also wish IPA focused a little more on ANC and other domiciles as I feel it’s somehwat SDF centric. However, I’m biased and need to recognize I might be wrong.

Politics - and that’s what this is - always involve very contentious issues.

I firmly believe that if all of us got together in a room, or better yet a nice bar we’d all agree on the majority of our issues. You, me, G550, Harry, SB, etc., etc... UPS does a good job hiring solid pilots and good people in general. Sometimes we disagree but typically things work out in the end

I hope y’all can bury your hatchets and focus on helping potential new-hires, because the more of them the fewer vacation buy-backs, trip reassignments, extended layovers, etc.

It’s such a cliché but yes, United We Stand..

I hope they’ll be able to hire 300 this year. At this point though I’m doubtful they’ll be able to pull it off..

They are certainly taking their sweet time with that system bid. There was a rumor going around last week to expect a "major announcement next week for 777s".....it turned out to be a thud of a non-announcement announcement of 3!!...THREE 767s....About 97 short IMO. They don't do anything grand around here is for sure...Like that time they had a bid to cut ONT by 1 FO. What serious playa in this industry run a bid to change staffing by 1?

There is some disturbing stuff happening on this thread. For how this all got started:

I read G550’s posting history. He posts more on his old company’s threads than he does on the UPS boards. I found no know-it-all posts or anything else that substantiates what you guys have asserted above. Something going on behind the scenes…?

I say the snake is you Past V1. I’ve read your entire posting history here in your short time on these threads (13 months). You are nothing more than an disgruntled troll. 68 post’s of almost nothing of value. When you aren’t taking shots at the B&G regulars you are either bashing the EB or scrapping with fellow IPA guys. You even took a cheap shot on Derek B. Who does that? My favorite one of yours (for those reading, it was directed towards a new hire, roxbjet): I get G550 was out of line for his PM. You sir are a disgrace for the way you handled it. Posting a PM. Publicly revealing the guy’s identity. Threatening his job:
How did you discover his identity? Regardless, you should have handled that internally, sought out Pro standards, reached out to his mentor, or kept it private and within the IPA. You publicly blew it up so you could feel better about yourself with complete disregard you could have potentially caused a fellow IPA some real harm and embarrassment. And for what? Because you think the union shouldn't know who is with them and who is a threat to the organization? I’m absolutely embarrassed to be associated with you and hope the union finds out who you are but have to wonder if you aren’t just a lonely legal clerk at some union busting shop churning out coprorate’s propaganda campaign. Either way take a break from these threads for a while. It’s nice.

No way to make the B&G crowd happy. Maybe you should go back and slap each other on the back over there on how great things are meanwhile complaining about everything under the sun. Spending union dues on finding a guy that disagrees with their agenda, sounds like a solid reason to have all of them fired. Maybe you finally have a piece of original thought and you're on to something here.

What makes you say the EB is spending money to find out who you are? Do you think you’re the first perpetual cheap seat smart mouth? The EB isn’t spending a penny to figure out who you are trust me.

I’m a newhire, still in class. First and last post until I’m off probation.

You guys attacking G550 are way off base. That guy help my friend get hired last fall, who in turn helped me. G550 was nice enough to call me and spend over an hour with me on the phone prior to my interview. He has helped several people navigate the process and several of us are on property thanks to him. I’m not sure what the beef is, but as for me, I owe that guy a burger and beers. Those of us transitioning from the fractional or corporate world are a minority, and finding people for advice isn’t easy. He was completely straight forward about what working for Brown is all about, and so far, he’s been on point. He seemed to me to very proud of the IPA on top of that and told me to lay low until my year is up and then volunteer. So something doesn’t add up... he must be running for political office or something.

I am new here too and agree with the post above. I don’t know G550 but his posts helped me quite a bit on here. Sometimes a new guy can help much more than an old guy who has lost touch with how interviews and training go here
