UPS -8 Rumor

Boeing Rep in sdf middle of the night is certainly LLLLLLOOOOW level guy so I wouldn't read into it too much.

I don't really know what his position is with Boeing. He meets the airplane when it lands to make sure there are no problems with the jet. I'm guessing a maintenance person. He just said his time in SDF was extended by 3 months due to more airplanes coming. That's when he gave up the info. I don't put too much stock in it.

While it may be cool to mock the OP or question the status of his Boeing source, this rumor may have some legs if you think about it. The 777 waiting list is too long, ditto with the 767.
Nobody is buying 747-8's at this moment except UPS. Boeing may be happy to sell a few more to keep the line open, and I'm sure the price is right given the fact that nobody else is buying 747's. You never know!

But, this rumor is definitely not off the radar...
