Not that long ago Anchorage was the most junior domicile. No longer the case.
When a bunch of us got displaced to the Iglooland way back when the commute sucked BUT at least we knew our relative seniority would be improving very quickly (and yes, ‘very quickly’ is a relative term around here). Then furloughees got recalled, the economy improved and we started hiring. Then came open time, JA calls, vacation sellbacks ...and the word spread down South..
Once the 74 floodgates open up (74 sdf domicile) you’ll still need to commute and as an additional bonus your relative seniority will stagnate for years to come. It is what it is, I’m frequently wrong and I hope I’ll be wrong again.

Very simple, ‘loss’ of our relative seniority.. 747 is already the most senior airplane at ups.

People senior to you would bid out to have an easier commute to SDF. Your seniority would improve. Of course, IDK how senior you are. Wouldn't work if your the top of the list.

If they open a B747 base in SDF, it is because they finally think it will benefit their manning and increase productivity again.
It won't be good for the B747 fleet in general, but better for the other fleets in SDF ... Spreading the wealth and sharing the pain !

When there’s a JA they have to call everyone in reverse order, no matter where they live. Got a JA for a trip starting with a deadhead to ont. I wasn’t interested and I told the scheduler that my friend, who’s senior to me, lives in ont. She said that with the new contract she has to call everyone in reverse seniority, no matter where they live...

Not a question about pay but more so schedule while on first year. From what I have gathered you could get a choppy schedule with not enough day to commute. Has this happened to you? I'm more acquainted with the 4 on 4 off airline type schedule, would LOVE a 2 on 2 off type schedule, just trying to understand how people deal with anything other than that.

Which domicile? Which fleet? Where will you be commuting from? Will we keep hiring? (growth) Will the economy keep humming along? Etc., etc..
2-weeks on / 2-weeks off is probably the most popular (senior) schedule on the 74. Domestic fleet schedules can be very choppy BUT trips are much easier to restore if you call in sick for example..
If you choose to move to your domicile (choices are SDF, MIA, ONT, ANC) you’ll probably hold the type of schedules you’re used to from day 1 as short trips are typically the least popular here - UNLESS you live in a domicile, then they’re quite popular..
Sorry I couldn’t help more.
