Interviews, Classes and General Hiring 2018

But since you asked ... As it stands, still can't hold first available anywhere. If I wanted to stay on the current fleet, it probably would be "never", who knows. The MD fleet plans are "fluid" at best.
Best GUESS is that upgrade is still a few more years based on current numbers per year going forward. Many things could change that ... a new type to the fleet, a B747 base in SDF for IPA pilots, bypassing numbers decrease, etc
What did the junior captain drop to on this last bid? Forgot and don’t have token to look.

Fair enough. The cool aid drinkers provide an extreme view in your eyes, and you certainly provide an extreme view in the opposite direction. Let's hope the new hires can figure out the true middle ground on their own.

IMO, The good news for interested parties, those interested at UPS will find that even with all the pitter patter "family" opinions, when it matters most, 99.9% stick together, including the folks on this forum. A positive of the pilot group

In closing, a word of caution: There is a difference from objective criticism and those who through believing they are cowardly anonymous can say anything they want need to pay attention.
The ax you grind is being noticed. It’s not the first time some have been highlighted. Changing your online name doesn’t insure continued anonymity.
Some have gone too far believing their anonimity. Some have had their job saved on probation but just don’t seem to get it. And throttle back. Some just can’t help themselves. But they should start. Maybe start reflecting on a nice long layover in CGN. Or PVG.
Some people have very nice schedules it appears. Much nicer than I do that’s for sure.
We all have to fly together. This is key.
Say what you want here about people but until you identify yourself then you should be triply sure you’re not hiding and saying things you wouldn’t dare say with your name on it.
No, you’re not adding to the conversation when you have an ax to grind. There is a difference. Nobody is saying UPS is perfect.
Finally, the last guy I flew with had lunch with his Delta buddy. Time to the left seat for the most junior captain is 3.5 months. I’d say the door is open. And yet....those disgruntled will not use it. Guaranteed.
We all have to fly together and nobody is anonymous.
Peace out

Your lack of response to my earlier post that guys aren’t leaving Brown in any significant way (cause it ain’t that bad) demonstrates you either can’t support you own argument or can’t be bothered to do so. Either way, you’re not providing any perspective: just angry sound bites.

Except there are no cool aid drinkers here. You define “cool aid drinkers” as those who aren’t as disgruntled as you but that’s not reality. If you had any developed critical reading skills you would have noticed we have only been arguing that ups is not as bad as you are saying.

If you had any reading comprehension skills, or anything else for that matter after being here less than three years thinking you have it all figured out you would know that I believe we have real problems here. The fact that we have had over 20 guys and gals leave here in the past two years for better pastures doesn't seem to concern anyone and you continue to down play it. No angry sound bites here, just reality that this isn't what you and others make it out to be. Its just another job and there are betters out there in this climate.

A review of ST's mid-June seniority list and the IPA Membership Committee hiring page shows that, from June '14 through June '18, we have hired 620 IPA pilots and 599 remain on property.
21 pilots represents a 3.4% attrition rate.
Among those are three former corporate pilots who left to return to Part 91 flying, at least three terminations for discipline, those with training difficulties...and those who left for Delta, FedEx, or other.
I would agree that we have 'problems here', but EVERYWHERE has problems and things seem to be trending toward hiring and growth and that's a positive change from the previous decade. I would also agree this is "just another job" and not something that defines a person, and that there are others in this climate that might be "better" depending on a given individual's situation.
This is a darn good job, though.
...but it ain't for everybody.
