Default UPS 2019 Hiring

That’s what I’m on the fence about. I’m close to upgrading at a regional so I decided the 1000 121 Pic time is more important and to wait it out. Just reading on here I guess atlas crews don’t fly a lot so getting 1000 with them might take longer. On the other hand international heavy experience helps maybe? It’s a gamble. I would love to know the total time of the atlas crew members.

I also don’t want to go from 17 days off to 20 days on.

I don’t think it can be stressed enough that early in your career you want to be busting your backside as much as possible vs enjoying the good life. Your competitor is hustling 20 days a month, getting the flight time, volunteering, becoming a check airman, getting an MBA, etc., how do you expect to win your dream job?

As far as the upgrade vs ACMI - upgrade. It’s only a little over a year and you’ll have that box checked. Distinguish yourself and maybe you could skip ACMI altogether. If not, it will always be there.

This is the Boomer mentality. Work your ass off, and most of the money goes to the 0.1%.

Bacon's Rebellion is the most important event in American history...affecting us today in a big way.

Scandinavian residents are the most happy on Our Earth, and they work a LOT LESS than we do...

This was the mentality that got most guys hired at the beginning of the wave back in 2012-2015. At UPS specifically, 2014-2015 hires are sitting pretty darn pretty right now, dare I say they are, ‘happy as a Swede?’ - you couldn't be a couch potatoe and have gotten on back then. Or now for that matter.

They average 50.8% income tax and have 19%VAT (sales tax) and have virtually NO military to protect themselves.

I wouldn’t work either if I had to pay those taxes.

Explaning the Scandinavian philosophy to Americans is difficult. The social system takes care of basic needs which allows them to focus on higher level needs.

In the states the pursuit of happiness really means the pursuit of money which is why you'll always hear the tax argument as a first rebuttal. It has been like this since the end of ww2 with the consumerist boom.

To each their own...
