The rec form we fill out asks for the exact name and email address of whom we are recommending.

Perhaps if you submit a new app with a different email it may be best to call your “sponsors” and have them resubmit with your new info???

I agree, that’s a good idea. With the numerous computer glitches we, line pilots often deal with, who knows if a person’s recommendation transferred over to the latest online app or not?

The online recommendation is often a ‘collaborative’ effort as it’s very detailed and a major pain to complete. I typically type the final product in Word document, save it and then copy and paste replies to each answer on the online form.
Once I’ve submitted it I copy the entire online recommendation and email it to the person I’ve recommended. It’d good for them to know what their sponsors put in writing on their behalf.

I have a question about the application.

I just applied and got the immediate TBNT. The funny thing is, I never saw a place to enter my flight times. Did I miss it? I can't edit the application and previous experience says I won't be able to apply again until next year. Does anyone have any advice?

Thank you.

Default Common Trends

Anyone find common trends in hiring for UPS (i.e. 4 year degree, 1000 hours of PIC, etc..)?

prior Atlas

UPS does a very good job of selecting applicants from many aviation backgrounds. Not a lot of "common trends", but I bet most (nearly 99%) have 1000 PIC and a 4 year degree, since you asked.

Good Luck, we need pilots.

Considering applying, not quite to 1000 PIC tho. How long do you have to wait between TBNT and re-applying? Should I hold off until getting the 1000?
What is typical time frame of application to interview to class date?

Next calendar year.

There is no "typical" timeframe for that...

From successful Hogan Assessment to interview seems to be a few weeks, then anywhere from same day to a month to get either a CJO with class date or a pool/TBNT letter, and if put into the pool it again could be a month to year(s) before receiving CJO.

I feel comfortable saying a majority of line pilots HATE how our application process is set up from initial application through Day 1 of Basic Indoc, but nobody asked for our opinion nor does anybody in a position to effect change seem to care.

Filled out their application the other day and was basically told that i won't be considered at this time, immediately after submitting it..?

Even though I exceed their hiring minimums.
Am I missing something?

For the 1000 of PIC if I have about 1300 of TPIC in a turboprop not 121, will I still be in the running?
