The organization also is paying for a very large and nice venue for all of these booths and educational opportunities. On top of that they offer large amounts of money that go to scholarship recipients that help our industry at large. I personally think its a small price to pay to be a part of the conference not to mention to get face time with your dream carrier.

OBAP was a thoroughly professional affair, in a professional environment with quality attendees. I’m really glad I went to last years in Houston. The NGPA had us standing in line to speak with a cargo company. The line went around 2 corners and outside. It was 48 degrees. You had to walk a gauntlet of aggressive vendors that acted like they were HR personel from an airline who then tried to coerce the hapless victim into a face treatment. Half of the people in line weren’t qualified(competive) for the positions they were in line for. It seemed like it was the bad old days of the Miami job fairs in a musty office building where everyone wants their pound of flesh.

You sound like it was demeaning to have to stand there to talk to a cargo company. It would have been fine to stand there for a passenger carrier, but a cargo carrier is not worthy of your time? I have no doubt that it sucked, but maybe you should rephrase that.
