If you want to go only for UPS I would just go for the one day personally. I went to NGPA specifically to talk to ups. I was there at 8 when it started, and by 8:30 I had talked to them. I came back in the afternoon for their briefing though, to hear the briefing but also to have my face seen again and show them I truly do want to work for them. Must have worked because my app is now locked which I’m told is a very hood sign and waiting impatiently for a call!

Not really, unless you don’t get to shake hands with a ups recruiter maybe? (for example if the waiting lines are extra long or if you show up late on day 1?)
Those 3 days are basically identical so if you’ve seen the recruiter(s) you want to see there’s no reason for you to show up on day 2 and 3.

HOWEVER, personally I think you and everyone else should see as many recruiters from as many airlines as possible. These seminars are expensive!! Why limit yourself to one airline only? There’s no guarantee ups will call you or that you’ll get hired even if they do.

This is where I disagree. Not the wrong profession, the wrong company simply because UPS has almost all non flying positions covered by the A-team, the masters of disasters...our beloved NURPS. Imagine if all chiefs and assistant chiefs were IPA guys. Fleet managers, safety dept, all the behind the scenes training stuff, special projects, etc.

Anyway, it’s all a moot point for me - I stumbled into an entry level position with Bernie’s campaign so I’m outta here. Gunna go change the world. Enjoy the brown pants, beeches!!! -Peace out!

Leaving you all with this great post by whale back in 2014 (UPS pool/classes thread).

Word of advice - stay off message boards! It won't do you any good except give you ulcers. You'll simply worry about what you've just gotten into based on the pessimism so freely shared by some of our brothers and sisters.

The vast majority of us enjoy this job - and that's all it is - a job, a fairly well paying job thanks to the IPA.
The message boards however are dominated by some very jaded doomsday'ers and members of the 'end-is-near' cult.

Most of them have legit gripes BUT their complaints won't help you whatsoever at this point.

So keep doing what you've been doing - enjoy your life, your family, your friends and hopefully we'll be buying you all beers and/or drinks of your choice before you know it.

Congrats again!!!

Thanks for the endorsement of my post from way back when.. Times sure flies but I guess not much has changed here.. :-(

I might be missing the joke here but are you retiring from APC? ..or something else?
Sure hope you aren’t leaving brown? If you are it’d definitely be our loss.
Hope I’m misunderstanding your comment.

Is there a projected schedule of 2019 classes anywhere? If not an official one, is there any guidance on about when a class or pair of classes start in each month?

Since hiring projections are close to last year... my guess would be that the classes would be pretty close to last year. But there's really no way of knowing what's in the works more than 2-3 months out that I'm aware of.

What’s a typical fly schedule for a month at:
A300 SDF
75/76 Domestic ONT
75/76 Domestic SDF

I’ll let others answer your specific questions but wanted to clarify our domicile & fleet options.
Technically there’s no “domestic” 75/76 domicile in Ontario. Only SDF has such a domicile.

We have 4 pilot domiciles:
ANC, MIA, ONT, SDF.

The 4 domiciles are then divided into the following fleets:
ANC
- 747 (growing, primarily international)
- MD11 (shrinking, domestic and international)

MIA
- 75/76 (domestic + C & S America)

ONT
- 75/76 (domestic + Asia)

SDF
- A300 (domestic)
- MD11 (some domestic + Europe and Asia)
- 75/76 (domestic)
- 75/76Z (some domestic + Europe and Asia)

So 4 pilot domiciles and 8 ‘fleet choices’ if you will.

Of course, there’s also the not-so-secret 747 SDF domicile which is only available to our managers. ..but that’s a totally different story...

Hope this helps.
