Is this essentially purchasing discounted tickets (or paying the taxes) to ride standby? And are these seats normally limited to coach?

Just curious, is there a way to purchase discounted guaranteed seats?

Thanks for the info.

It’s actually ZED fares, not ID90. Difference is ZED has 3 levels of pricing, low, medium and high. Some airlines give us low, some medium, some high, depending on negotiated agreement.

Low, med, high can mean first class too. Used to be a good deal on south African that was a discounted guaranteed ticket for around 500r/t

For people in the pool, is there any value added in having friends/references at the company put in a good word at HR? I'm pretty sure they helped get the resume pulled for the initial interview. Any idea if there's value there, or is the class selection process completely internal to HR?

At least some invites have gone out for 7-8 October. I’ve heard that 7 October may have been rolled into the 8 October class for a single start date.
