Does anybody know the class projection for the rest of the year? One every month?
Hella waiting.

No, but approaching peak (Mid November through end of December) is traditionally a slow hiring period.
In 2018, One class in Nov and one early December.
2017 saw one class in Oct and one in Nov.
Nothing past Sep in 2016 or 2015.

In 2014 only one October class past Aug 2014.

Am guessing maybe max two more classes in 2019

My guess 3 more classes, OCT/NOV/DEC. With all airplanes coming, they can’t afford to fall behind EVEN MORE!! But trying to guess what UPS will do is 🤦. And it also depends on 74 SDF bid size and timing.

In class drops, are there any trends as to what the first/last picks are, especially among the light twins?

Was told by a ground instructor we’ve hired about 200 so far this year (thought it was more?). It sounded like they think we’ll end up with ~250 for the year..
Boiler, do you keep track of how many we’ve hired thus far? Those numbers seem low to me..

216 hired YTD; not sure how many of those have been retained.

Thanks. I know 2 of the 216 who left after 6 and 9 months respectively to join purple. Several washed out..
So I guess ~200 so far and 250 for the year might be fairly accurate.. Too bad, was hoping for 300.

Maybe they are regretting it now 😳

I think all hires from 2014 on will regret coming to both UPS and Fedex as we see Amazon grow and change the industry. Your peers at AA, UAL and DAL will move up rapidly while you stagnate. The domestic lines are unlivible long term and even 74 is getting bad. Just not smart to come here with the retirements there and uncertain future in express/cargo.
