I guessing lots of folks in the pool who would have gladly shown up.
My guess is that the training department and devices are pretty much at maximum capacity. I think smaller classes are a good sign because it could mean that we are trying to fit the puzzle pieces tighter.

Just my crazy, uninformed opinion.

Just came home today with an awesome guy who’s got 5 trips left. 60 years old, great health, sharp as a razor.... said he’s had enough and it’s time to spend the money. He will be sorely missed in my fleet.

Company has no ability to stop the hemorrhaging, and I think the worse is yet to come.

By the end of 2023, about 260 pilots currently on the seniority list will turn 65.

By the end of 2023, about 670 pilots currently on the seniority list will have 30 years of service, maxing their defined benefit; of those, about 530 will be age 60 and able to take full retirement.

We also are taking delivery of 27 more airframes (nine 763F and eighteen -8F) by the end of 2022, all of which have been publicly announced multiple times as growth aircraft.

Just to be clear, ALL our 75/76 domiciles fly both types interchangeably.

In our system, they show up as 757 or 75/76. They are different planes but some airlines choose to operate them separately some as a single fleet.
