UPS B plan

So after you meet the government max for the B plan what happens to the 12%. Does the contribution go into a Top hat program or get distributed as a cash payout or you only get the 12% up to the government max?

You take a 12% paycut after maxing out.

So the MPP (DC plan) is essentially capped at $466,666 of income for the year (12% of this is the $56k IRS limit for 2019). I would bet this encompasses 95%+ of the pilot group.

No, it's 12% of a much lower number. If I read you right, you are figuring b plan and 401k.

"The 401(a)(17) annual compensation limit applicable to retirement plans increased from $275,000 to $280,000."

So $33,600 from the company, $19,000 max from you towards the 56,000 limit. $3400 post tax if you want as a Capt. or make over $280,000.

The $5000 catch up over 50 doesn't affect these numbers

Thx for clarification
