June 3/4 class

Salty isn’t an “everything sucks” type, FAR from it.
He is, however, a pragmatist with the knowledge and experience to form that pragmatism.
I find myself a bit more optimistic than that recent post with regards to growth, but reality is they will only ever have the bare minimum airline required to make service guarantees with all that statement entails and I dare say that was his underlying point.

So............
Was the June class officially removed or is this conjecture?
I was never told by HR June was no longer an option and I am still waiting on a "June 3rd or July" class.
I have emailed HR and have not received a response.
My guess would be that the cancellations may be due to the training backups mentioned in other threads?

The man had such an impression on me after a week of flying I went and volunteered to work on a committee. Only bad part was they stuck me with Boiler..... (who looks like he’s maybe 21).
Back on point, I was in the same situation leaving an employer. No easy answer for you. You can try and read the tea leaves and maybe you’ll get the call 2 months out, or maybe you’ll get called Thursday for a Monday class. Either way, you have to decide the call. Best of luck.

Seriously, ups couldn’t are less how you treat a former employer. As you will find out they don’t care about you either!

I just hope that the potential new hire applicants don’t waste a second of their life reading the pessimistic comments of a very select few. UPS is an outstanding company to work for and I consider myself to be in the lucky few that literally hit the career lottery. Good luck to all that are applying.

This is what I was trying to convey, a few Debbie Downers. THIS JOB IS NOT PERFECT by any means, and it may have different issues than a “traditional “ airline, but it is a very good job. We have a different type of employer, one which requires high degree of unity, higher than most jobs, NOTHING is given to us, we are constantly having to battle to keep what we fight hard for. From my limited experience, except for a few here and there, our group is very unified. Whoever comes here thinking you are going to be babied, told every day how awesome and important you are, etc, you are in for a rude awakening. This job most definitely requires big boy pants.
Having said that, come to work, do your job, get along with everyone, don’t constantly whine, and for the most part it will be enjoyable. The 2010 furlough was an extremely unfortunate event that most definitely did not need to happen, and I can’t even imagine what those unfortunate folks went through. All I can say is I am grateful to have one of the top jobs in aviation in the world. HOWEVER, grateful does not mean submissive nor a.. kisser. Simply be respectful, do your job, STAY INFORMED (can’t stress this enough) and follow Union guidance.
While off topic (June class), this is very relevant to future new hires coming to Brown. This most important thing I tell anyone interested is make sure you understand the type of employer you are choosing. This is not any other major airline job.
