Thanks man, I am scheduled for June 4th. No final offer yet. Paperwork still in the works. Anyone else?

Just curious how long ago did you hear about starting in June?? Just curious if you hadn’t heard yet is June no longer a consideration.

CJO came in February for a March or April class and those dates came and went with no final offer. I was told June or July at the beginning of April. Never heard anything about June not being an option. Was that posted somewhere or is that insider information?

Has anyone else had an experience similar to this? My CJO talked about the July/August classes. Coming from a corporate background, I gave my company a heads up so they would have the necessary time to replace me. I would hate to have everyone planning on July/August and I end up going months later.

To be clear, I haven’t resigned, I am just trying not to screw an employer who has been good to me.

My situation is very similar. I find it very frustrating. I informed my present employer, as late as I was comfortable with, to give them enough time to hire someone to replace me. Didn't want them to get a call during the history check and be blind-sided. Felt they deserved to get a heads up.

Well that’s where I was at. After emailing with HR, they said they would start the background check immediately. I didn’t want to be in a situation where UPS HR was calling without me saying something first. Now I’m in a situation where my current job expects and is planning I will leave in July or August. Right now they are very supportive and telling me to resign when comfortable but I doubt that attitude will continue for months on end.

UPS is one of those places where they will penalize you (as an applicant) for leaving a job without giving proper notice, yet they expect you to leave your current job at the drop of a hat when the class date comes. I think the term is "arrogance"

I never got that impression. Based on my experience and communication pre indoc, they could care less how/when you left your current employer. The feel I got was they know this will be your last job (for the vast majority, the occasional odd ball will leave here and there), just make sure you show up. In fact, there were a couple of guys who were double dipping while in class, for different reasons, using vacation, sick, whatever, and all fully disclosed this to UPS. None got discouraged from doing this, they just said “thank you for letting us know and being upfront”. Again, just my experience.
