Several important issues are being discussed. One is a new LOA which relaxes the jumpseat matrix.
Remember, the matrix was designed to help commuting pilots’ ability to make it to/from work. It limits the number of P3s the company may use. (for new guys/gals - P3 is often called ‘must-ride’ at pax airlines).

This new Letter of Agreement relaxes the previous j/s matrix which will allow UPS to book more P3s on company’s jumpseats (i.e. to exceed the jumpseat matrix).

Why? Because numerous passenger airline flights have been cancelled which limits UPS’s ability to reposition the crews around the world. Hopefully, this new LOA will help the company in preventing flight cancelations.
Yes, it will hurt commuters (I'm one of them) as the likelyhood of getting bumped will go up BUT it’s the right thing to do. The company needs to be able to reposition the pilots or flights will cancel.
