Default 2020 hiring.

While many bizav folks hired since 2014 had large cabin and international experience, there have been multiple people hired from midsize and light cabin bizjets.

Most, if not all, also had bizav management experience.

That’s exactly where I came from. I think Boiler is correct as well... we do hire from a wide spectrum and I’ve seen several corporate guys in the past year. Keep knocking on doors and going to job fairs.

X2. Most people I’ve met with a 91/135 background came from large cabin international experience or were able to check some of the extra boxes- Chief Pilot, DO, Check airman, etc.

Are you an independent contractor? Or do you work for a firm? It may be tough in the eyes of UPS to verify all your info- validity of experience, potential PRIA info (you’d be filling it out on behalf of yourself, not a supervisor filling it out on behalf of your employer), all potential sticky points with UPS if you’re not with an organized company and forcing them to take your word on experience. I’m not implying you aren’t truthful about your experience, but they don’t have any way to validate the information like they can with applicants coming from 135 or 91 flight departments.

also it is a numbers game. UPS hires less that 300 pilots a year, and less than 20% or so come from a corporate background.

Or the opposite, corporate to pt 121 as I did, 2 years at Atlas was the trick. Not that I can even come close to recommending Atlas anymore, but Kalitta, Omni might be good options to build the resume.

Agreed. Going and getting some heavy international time or whatever is needed to continue to improve your app & resume. I’ve checked the 121, military (helicopter & light turbo prop/jet), Part 91, Chief Pilot and Masters Degree boxes. 7,000 + hours, clean training record and I’ve heard nothing. The heaviest thing I flew before recently was 70k lbs. Also, just received my second internal.

So, I did what is necessary to improve my experience. Getting some heavy international experience and going to more job fairs.

It’s no guarantee, but few things are these days.
