Default Hotel Points

Do UPS pilots get to collect hotel points, i.e. through Marriott and IHG? I know some hotels don't allow it with certain airline contracts.

Hot or miss. You usually get the points for initial training and that puts you at a pretty high level to start with.

more miss than hit, in my experience.

On the domestic side, I get points less than 20% of the time.

Hilton is better than Marriott as points go. Marriott almost never gives you points unless you charge something to the room and that is even hit or miss.

Significantly higher chances when staying at an alternate location.

JFK Hampton Inn is the only hotel I know of that gives points. I’m sure there are others but that’s the only one I know for sure.

HGI Atlanta did, but we moved back to the regular Hilton.

I wonder if this is something that can be written into the next round of contracts (at purple and brown). Negotiate with the hotels that as part of the rate, they give the pilots points and night stay credits. It would be nice since I don’t have the travel benefits like a PAX guy that maybe I can at least be elite status with hotels and book on all the points I’d earn for vacation.
