I got clarification on the matter. The prep in question reiterates what the recruiter said and as such does not discuss right or wrong answers. Instead it focuses on avoiding common mistakes such as trying to appear as "the perfect employee" and answering what you think UPS wants to hear. I'll heed the recruiters instruction.

Thank you!

Excellent, thank you for the follow-up.

Good luck to you!

I truly do believe my special issuance had something to do with it, but no one will ever know, and it’s only my opinion. I suppose the moral of the story for me was that I needed to see this from the beginning as the marathon it truly can be. I thought I was prepared for that, but realized later that maybe I wasn’t.

For those who trudge through the SI process don’t think it’s a roadblock. I got through with one.

Good Luck to all applying and welcome to those arriving! Corp guy with three more months or so to year 2.

Personally I doubt it had anything to do with it. Why? ..because recruiters aren’t even supposed to know about medical issues. Period! All they want to know is that you have a 1st class medical. Not if you’re wearing glasses or have a special issuance medical. I’ve worked in such a capacity in past life and this was a huge deal.

I assume the online app asks about special issuance medical? ..because how would they even know?
If it’s on the app I bet you the computer system is set up in such a way recruiters see your app without the medical information being included..

Imagine the kind of lawsuits airlines would open themselves up to if they started screening people based on someone’s medical history? United got sued in the past and they promptly dropped their company medicals shortly thereafter. Most airlines did. ..So did we (after ~06).

Either way, glad you beat it and very glad to see you join our ranks!!

Outside of a job fair, is there anything one can do to speed along or increase the chances of a call after your app has been locked? Or is it just a waiting game? Been staring at my phone for a few weeks....
