Sorry, about taking a little detour here but I don’t believe this number whatsoever. Managers throw the 300/year number around became each new ipa instructor is a threat to their job security. So the way I see it they have no interest in speeding up the training of new hires, transitioning pilots or of new instructors. If they wanted to we could’ve trained MANY more pilots. Period.

Back to regular programming..

You are Right that IPA instructors are threatening to their job security, but I’m unsure if the limfac is sim or instructor availability. Simulators can’t be run around the clock due to contractual limitations.

True regarding CQ events. Don’t believe it applies to newhires though as technically they aren’t IPA until off probation. So the company could be training 24/7 if they wanted to. One way or the other they always seem to find reasons not to.
