UPS app re-submit for 2020

OK, got the email to resubmit, which I did today. All green checks. My prior 2019 app got "locked" about 3 weeks after submission.

Fingers crossed for my 2020 app.

Zudd 12-28-2019 03:08 PM

Did the same last year. Do it again after the 1st. Trust me...

Dumb question but not afraid to ask. If I have an interview scheduled but still got the re-apply email, do I still reapply?

Edit: I will just ask them.

Yes, my Class date was Jan 3rd of the year I was hired and I had to reapply, lol. It mostly has to do with them being able to send you new hire documents to fill out if hired.

I just filled out the new link and eveything is GTG. Previous app was locked. Can you confirm i will have to do this on the 1st of Jan?

Zudd 12-28-2019 11:45 PM

I did the same on 28 Dec 2018, when I got the email to renew my app. When I got the call this year for a class, they told me my app was not current. I explained that I thought I had complied with the email? They told me that it needed to be a 2019 app and since I renewed it in 2018, it was not current.

I haven’t received an email to redo it, should I wait till 1/1/20 and just go and reapply on the new link ?active and all green at the moment , not locked .

Zudd 12-29-2019 01:18 PM

So i made my new re-app they just sent trun all green but after reading in here i should have waited until 2020. Now I am seeing i have to re-apply in 2020. Does anyone know how i would do that using my current email. My internals are tied to my email. My 2019 app was locked a few weeks ago.

Shortly after the first of the year a new first officer posting will be uploaded to UPS jobs. Just use that link and login with your existing account. I remember it being very easy.

C5Drvr 01-03-2020 03:44 AM

My 2019 app was all green checks, but never got locked. Have not received any emails to update for 2020. Is there a link floating out there that can be shared or is it only for those that are locked in? When does the new 2020 position typically post?

They often use emails for communications so check that folder frequently..

So I did the only thing I do this time of year and logged into my UPS careers account. My 2019 pilot application was marked "inactive" for almost 11 months. However, today it showed "active" and I can edit the application. Not sure if thats still an active app or if I need to update with a new application? Any thoughts?

Throw in a new application for 2020. I don't think they will be using the 2019 pile for much longer.

Agreed!^^^^this^^^^
HR needs a new 2020 app so send you background info if you get a CJO. I received a CJO in 2019 and had to resubmit this week. All my info transferred over so it was easy.

these conferences are NOT a MUST. I speak from experience. Glad you dropped the TS clearance info. The overnight packages appreciate it.

Yes, you might be correct BUT for many, if not most, they seem to be.
Just review the numerous threads here started by many hopefuls who’d been applying and re-applying, year after year, but with no luck. They had seemingly great backgrounds and resumes but just couldn’t get a break. Some of them chose to attend a job-fair, or two, and all of a sudden doors began to open up.
I’m glad you didn’t need to attend those.

FYI - The overnight packages appreciate you caring about Pneal29’s TS clearance info too! ;-)

My issue was with a brand new hire referring to him/herself as the be all, end all and foremost authority on the hiring process. A lot of us are overseas, deployed or can’t make all these job fairs. Feeding hopefuls disinformation ain’t cool.

Saying job fair attendance is a must in this day and age ain’t disinformation, it’s sound advice based on lots of feedback from successful candidates. As is getting interview prep. We have a ton of people here and elsewhere claiming that their attendance at a fair brought changes to their app / status. On the other hand, we have, maybe a couple of guys who report getting on without going to one; the outliers. You do the math. It literally is a must for some people. Worst case scenario it doesn’t hurt. You’re actually the one spreading a bit of bad information.

Not sure about any superiority complex but the guy is one of the few paying it back and sharing info. Consider we have had almost 1000 people get on in this wave since 2014 and almost no one comes back and offers their experience. Good on him for posting - people who have recently gotten on are the authority on what it takes to get hired.

how did you convince them you wouldn’t go to Delta a week out of training?

Good question: The ability to fly wide-body immediately plus the domicile options work for me and my family, this is why Big Brown is the place for me. Delta doesn't quite meet my family needs.

Hmmm pension? Hats? Double Breasted jackets? No intra continental flying. The list goes on and on....
