Default International offline jumpseaters?

Hello fellow freight dawgs,

Are you allowing offline jumpseaters for international flights? (Unfortunately, for some reason unknown to me, we don’t allow international jumpers at FX, even on birds with cockpit doors).

Was hoping to find a way to get from SAN to GDL next week.

Thanks for any info.

UPS does not allow offline international JS, just like Fedex.

The limiting factor here is the TSA. According to the jumpseat coordinator at my last airline, the plan to start implementing International Jumpseat would be in 2020. With Covid-19 happening, I'm sure it's been on the back burner.

Normally Southern, Atlas, Kalitta, etc are International JS options. However, Southern & Atlas have temporarily restricted OAL international JS (I am not sure about Kalitta) due to Covid issues. Hopefully this will normalize in the coming weeks.

I think Alaska is still operating LAX/GDL?

True, other cargo carriers allow int’l jumpers. So, it’s apparently not a TSA issue.

Thanks for the heads-up on Alaska flight. I had missed that option.

I believe it is a separate program outside “CASS” that allows OAL jumpseaters. The name escapes me now. At least at my airline the verification process is the same regardless of whether it’s a domestic or international leg. All are welcome and we will even feed you.

Different airlines have different security certification levels and that is what has kept Intl jumpseat away from ups, fdx, and the pax carriers.
