Just had a captain win $1 mil in Dubai. You'd think being hired at 25 would've been enough.

yep, they always have some cool lottery/raffle type things going on, money, luxury cars, etc. It says he bought his ticket mid june. I'm thinking that there couldn't have been too much competition! Great guy, wish it was me though

Dubai has the Millennium Lottery. The top prize is 1 million US dollars, there’s are only 5,000 tickets so your chances are relatively good - BUT it’s an expensive ticket. Supposedly, later this year they might up the prize to 1 million €uros from 1 million dollars.
You can also win a car (typically a luxury brand around $100-150K or a sport motorcycle (2 different lotteries). The car and the motorcycle will be flown to the country of your choice.
You can buy the tickets at all shopping malls in Dubai and also at the airport (10% employee discount if you’re in uniform). Additionally you may buy it online (see the link).
