Overheard a higher level senior manager (guy does a lot Job fairs) telling someone this week that apparently they have abandoned the pool and are aware that they are not as competitive as they’d like in attracting the more desirable applicants.
To those new to our threads, don’t take this too seriously - perhaps we’ll see some small changes to the process this year…?

I am very happy to report that I received a CJO for a May 10th class. Received the CJO one day after the interview this week. Initial contact for resume review was Feb 5th. They made the process quick and enjoyable!

I’ve heard that attending hiring events like the WAI can get it back to active. Not sure how true that is, but that’s what I would try.

I heard the Easter bunny was real too! I don’t think our HR has a consistent process anymore. It would be nice if the hiring web page laid out for applicants exactly what to expect each step of the way. Instead we have a dysfunctional black box that serves the company and applicants poorly. Not meant to rag on you, just our management that can’t seem to manage effectively.

I hear a lot of rumors, don’t post any of them unless they have at least a slight chance of being accurate. From the UPS POV, they are seeing a lot more training failures and probation terminations than they prefer. It also seems they are having a harder time hiring the “type,” they want. From the feedback here and online, it doesn’t sound like they are running a pool anymore so that could be true. If that’s all they do that would be a big win for applicants. Anyway, the fact that guys at that level are even acknowledging there’s an issue with hiring is good news.

Hi guys,
Applying from overseas and not in possession of a ‘current’ US driver license. So I entered the expired one I possessed before I moved overseas 20 years ago. I sent two contact us emails to HR explaining what I did and why. My application went locked shortly thereafter and after 2 and a bit weeks of being locked my app has now gone to inactive.. 18 years at my current airline with a clean record and a lett of rec from an old college buddy in UPS leads me to think that the exp DL is the issue. Not willing to take no for an answer without even a phone review what are thoughts on going back to the US, obtaining a new DL, set up a new profile and re apply? Has that ever been done?
