UPS 2022 Hiring
#511
I know this is off topic but since I've still got a newish account it won't let me post new threads:
I'm in training at a regional right now, end goal would be to end up at UPS in the future. Out of curiosity, how junior does a spot on the 747 go? Do guys get it after being at brown for 5-10 years or does it depend on experience, type rating, etc.
Thanks! Flying 747s at UPS is a dream of mine I hope to one day have!

Newhire transition freeze is 18 months, if you get hired and assigned a light twin you can bid the whale after the seat lock is up. You'd likely have no issues holding it in ANC, SDF might take longer.
If you want to come to UPS...make sure you get AT LEAST 1000 multi-turbine PIC and checking a box like Sim Instructor and/or Line Check Airman would help.

I would highly recommend getting 1000TPIC as quickly as possible and then going to Atlas or Kalitta and getting heavy time. Does UPS hire RJ drivers? Certainly but it is the exception. I came to UPS straight from a regional. But the majority are from ACMI and the Military. If UPS is the goal, get that TPIC, start applying and networking immediately and while doing that improve that resume with a heavy type and some crossings. Then you will hold 74 as a new hire. Best of Luck. Enjoy the ride.

Hello everyone!
I am currently a new FO at a regional, and I have an important decision to make right now... I could really use your advice!
#1. Stay at my regional and upgrade to build TPIC time as soon as possible.
#2. I have a class date with Amerijet (767 cargo out of Miami). Go now and build widebody-international flying experience.
Upgrade times are currently the same - as soon as I get 1000 121 hrs. The only difference is that I will have to go through 4 months of training at Amerijet - so my upgrade would be delayed by 4 months when compared to staying at regional.
Should I prioritize getting the TPIC as soon as possible in CRJ or take some delays in training and get 767 time?

If it were me I would take the 767 gig as it will give you that additional relevant experience in a big jet. If you decided to stay at the regional you would want to become an instructor or other qualification to add to your resume to better stand out.

That depends on your goals for your career. If you’re all in on ups/FedEx, go to Amerijet. If you want a major or the first job to come along, stay put and get the PIC.
