Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. Trying to palace chase but I want to make sure I’ll have enough hours for the dream gig before hitting submit in a year or so.

You probably have the hours, but applying and having anything other than an "inactive" or "on file" app can be a frustrating process. Many highly qualified mil guys get shot down by the aggressive UPS Jobs filter. Some make it through on the first try. Really random.

I haven't interviewed yet, but I'm an 11F background with ~2K TT and >1500 PIC. My app (and most of my friends with similar totals) got told "TBNT" until getting a recommendation.

I'm only telling you all of this so that you can get your house in order and PC without counting specifically on UPS. I'd focus on your finances and the PC process for the specific unit you want to go to, and hope for the best for UPS.

For most of us mil guys who get filtered out, here's the path to success (has worked with 5x other guys I know):

- Apply, app goes inactive
- Get a rec, app goes active
- Attend a job fair to quickly get a call OR wait it out and eventually get a call (my app went active in early April, app locked in June, resume review and Hogan test in July)
- Continue to be patient from there; everyone's timeline seems different

Good luck! I'm off to FDX after assuming I'd have to make the choice, but I have yet to hear back from them after the Hogan.

You will be exponentially better at FDX, congrats.

Congrats on FDX!

I appreciate the advice. I’ll start buying a few more beers for the units around me and see if I can’t make a friend or two and ask their processes for PC

Definitely excellent advice. When doing the PC and coming into contact with those at a Guard/Reserve units I would bet they have folks flying for the dream job of your choice and get sponsorship, recommendation, etc from them if you haven’t already especially after having flown with them. If you haven’t, be sure to fly with folks who are attached to your unit from the Guard/Reserve if that is still a thing. Unsure if mixing is still going on, but if you’re a C17 guru (Moose?) there just might be opportunities depending on your location. Could be wrong about the Moose since it was long ago in-country flying when it was an actual call sign vs nickname. Just speaking from the experience of having support from those within the wire. Not a Purple or Brown flyer, but internal recs go a long way normally at any outfit. Good luck with your PC, it’s never too early…

Why do you say that? FDX has far fewer retirements (percentage wise) coming up and have hired FAR more (percentage wise) the past 5/10 years.

Hello, was told at OBAP, once the app window closes they will start reviewing resumes from it. The rumor was it was closing on the 14th but I still see it listed. Anyone have insight on this? Has anyone that is a first time submitter during this opening gotten a call?

Submitted for the first time back in mid July when the window opened. Was called to do a resume review about 10 days later with the Hogan test 2 days after that. Hoping for a call for an interview soon, but who knows really.
