I’m not sure how you interpret anything about our hiring process as pompous arrogance. Disorganized? Frustrating? Sure. Pompous arrogance would imply there is some method to the madness and they are intentionally setting and enforcing a standard not worthy of the job. That would be an easier problem to fix than what often appears to be (and I sincerely hope I’m wrong on this) incompetence. We might not lose so many great people just waiting for the results of their interview or their Hogan (or even the initial call) with mere pompous arrogance.

Perhaps it’s pompous arrogance that prevents them from seeing their incompetence? Not joining the debate, just floating an idea.

Keeping people waiting indefinitely, no feedback for months, etc. That is irresponsible, inconsiderate and unprofessional.
