When did you interview and what’s your availability if you don’t mind me asking? I interviewed July 12th with a September 1st availability and hoping to hear something soon.

When did you do the Hogan assessment?
|
I had a cold call 7/8, did the Hogan 7/10, interviewed 7/22, and now I'm waiting.
|
Congratulations. I got mine last month. Still green and pending but no contact after the Hogan.
|
Is there a whatsapp group for the September class already? Can someone send me the link? 👍

when is the expected sim graduation time for someone that starts on 17 September?

I'd say 8-10 weeks is rather accurate. I was a June 7th hire and I finished up my check ride around August 15th. That was with some delays due to instructor getting covid/sims breaking and the scramble afterwards to find instructors. I believe we were originally slated for around August 5th to finish.

Floyds Knobs is definitely nice and well represented, but you don't have to go "up the hill" in Floyd County to get nice neighborhoods and great public schools. Plenty of good subdivisions in New Albany, Georgetown/Lanesville/Greenville to the west are very popular, as is Sellersburg and Memphis to the north. |
We moved to Crestwood, KY. The schools are great, the community is really welcoming, and there’s no bridge business to deal with on the way to the world port. The bridges will randomly close, so take that into consideration when choosing where to live.
Oldham County on the KY side is also closer to more things we were looking for (Costco, grocery stores, dance lessons, etc). We do pay a little more for taxes but I think it’s worth it. Oldham county is iPhone. Floyd County is android. Just kidding |

Lots of pretty good local Louisville area choices depending on what you’re looking for, but if you need California choose Ontario and pick your SoCal poison. I’ve lived on both coasts and Louisville won’t substitute for that, if that’s your thing. If the idea of a city based on bourbon and horse racing appeals. You’ll enjoy life |

How long, if any, has there been a break between indoc and sims in the last few classes?
|
Depends on fleet. Between a couple days and a month.
seems the 74s are currently getting the most time. |

I’m a Floyds Knobber. About a 25 minute drive to work if Sherman Minton bridge is open, about 30 minutes if it’s not. As mentioned, its refurb should be done in a few weeks and that'll be a thing of the past, although its been a nothing-burger for the last couple years as we only have to cross the bridge a couple times a month anyway with our schedules. Excellent schools in our area too (Highland Hills Middle and Floyd Central High, our son has attended both and they’ve been terrific). There’s some good veterans benefits to living in Indiana too, so if this pertains to you, make sure you research that. My wife and I compared both Oldham County and Indiana and Indiana won out for us primarily as I’m a retired veteran and own a plane that also needed a home, but it wouldn’t have disappointed us to have moved to Oldham County.
Only thing I'd add is your money goes approximately 25-30% farther in Indiana (maybe less so in Floyd Cty specifically) than it would in east Jefferson, Oldham County. You'll actually be closer to downtown and Edgewood (in terms of time spent driving) than you would in most of the nice areas in Oldham County. Take a look at the houses for sale and compare price per square foot and lot size. I've found the above percentages to hold in general. |
