Any thoughts on how this move could affect our newly awarded contract with the USPS?

Lots or not at all. Without knowing the language of the contract, what Trump is actually going to do, and next week’s Powerball numbers we will just have to wait and see. My guess is the USPS will continue to offer next day air and we will continue to carry it. Trump could send airmail back to the Air Force, but it’s been a minute since they had that mission.

Congress would have to be the ones that privatize it. And it would only work if they remove all of their influence from it... no union protections, not idiotic rate rules for 1st class mail, no laws prohibiting competition, and no other micromanaging from the government. In other words if Congress completely divests the USPS from the government and allows a true free market in labor and competition for 1st class mail, then it might have a chance to succeed. Otherwise it will be the same old crappile.

Have you looked at their financials? Also they are incredibly slow, and their service keeps getting worse and more expensive.

Many USPS distribution centers experienced significant (2-8 week) delays in Q4'24 and Q1'25, including well before the Christmas peak, though it has recently improved. I've had parcels lost and have gotten bills weeks after they were due. Louisville & Indianapolis were particularly bad, but issues were reported in media all over the place.

Everything gets more expensive. You offset it by making more money.
I use priority mail all the time, from Alaska, usually 3 days for anywhere in the country, like FL.

This is not a factual statement.
