If I get backfilled for say a 5 day conflict block, usually I get 2 or 3 days of fillers added. I trade those to get commutable blocks and drop a day or 2 (via pickup board) if I cant. So end up with a couple of paid days off though the arse pain of moving restored days around sometimes isn’t really worth it vs bidding clean non conflicting schedule.

Internationally, taking advantage of 48hr rest rule after long intl trip and weekend reduced flying yielded good results on the restoration.

I dont know for certain but I think it’s pretty rare to conflict a large block and not get anything restored to your line. Shorter conflicts like 2-3 days seems to work better for this. But I think the good ol days conflict bidding are in the rear view window for the most part. By design imho: get rid of conflict bidding and we lose a major argument against pbs.

Did the whale schedules out of ANC get better? Before they were not great for commuters. 6 on 3 off, 2 on 4 off. 2-3 commutes a month.
