Pay it Forward Please...
If you're a recent new-hire or maybe just got hired
- - - CONGRATS TO YOU ALL! - - -
We're all happy to see you onboard!
As you already know, our company doesn't make the application process very easy.
Hopefully you learned a thing or two from the rest of us by researching this forum and maybe the process became just a tad easier?
If so, please pay it forward and help other hopefuls by posting pertinent info here on APC.
For example, for the last couple of years applicants had to re-submit their applications after the end of the year. However, I've now received conflicting info on this subject. Two managers "in-the-know" with two different answers.
- Yes, old apps are flushed at the end of the year
- No, old apps stay in the system at the end of the year but you must log in to re-activate the account.
Of course, most applicants aren't able to log in once they submit their apps.. :-/
Needless to say people are confused..
So whenever you run into HR reps while you're in training (same building) please try to clarify some of the questions you might be seeing here on APC.
I'm sure other potential new hires will be very grateful. Thanks!

Paying it forward, it would be beneficial and important for anyone interested in UPS to update their application in 2017. It's free! So do it. This is an opportunity you wouldn't want to be standing up when the music stops. That would be my recommendation to all who are interested in getting on property. Best of luck.

During the interview, I asked and was told: "UPS DOES NOT FLUSH THE HIRING POOL." Look folks, this is a great opportunity to fly for a great (long history) company. If your're serious, treat this like a chance of winning the lottery. That's what I did and I was granted the opportunity.

Indeed, however, I believe the application portal allows for updates every January. I was fortunate to receive a generated email last year that stated: "If you're still interested in a First Officer position with UPS, please resubmit (basically update) your application." Of course, which I did immediately.

For the record, a friend's referral received a similar email last year (January/February time frame). After numerous attempts of trying to update his app, to no avail, he ended up applying under a different email address. ..and yes, supposedly they don't like that but HR wasn't very helpful when a couple of his sponsors tried to find out what to do. He's now working here so it all worked out.
This company doesn't make it easy and often it's not as simple as "..anyone interested in UPS update (your) application in 2017. It's free!.."

There's poolies waiting on classes, there's hopefuls trying to get an interview, and there's a small but growing number who interviewed over the last month and are refreshing their in-box every few minutes hoping for news as well.
I had to create a second application on the portal with a new e-mail address, which seemed to solve most of my individual problems. Perhaps it's a strategy if one is not able to do a January refresh of their app.
Paying it forward is absolutely the right thing to do, hopefully everyone gets the good news they are looking for in the new year!

Tons of useful information on here, unfortunately it's all hidden in various threads... I do agree paying it forward is the right thing to do. Several UPS pilots on here were very helpful and encouraging to me over the past several months (OP included). And none of them knew me from Adam.
I started the process back in July and will be in class the 16th. Things might move quicker for the next couple of classes I would imagine, with all the hiring being announced recently.
Like anything in this business, don't sit around thinking about applying.... apply and start the process. UPS is a top tier job, and although it may not seem as glamorous as Delta or whoever.... the pay/benefits/retirement are at the apex of flying careers.
Best of luck to all. Any corporate or 91k guys looking for some application answers, I'm here to help.

Happy new year to you guys/gals. Keep this all going, lots of hiring over the next few years. I'm walking away from forums, FB, etc., going back to paper and talking to people. Whale, Cactus, Boiler - keep it real & see you guys out there. Beers on me!
Best of luck everyone.
