If this kind of stuff irritates you then Brown might really be something you should reconsider. This is just the first part of the pre interview step. You ain't seen nothing yet.

I am currently based OCONUS. I do have a US mailing address, but this would be inaccurate. This creates a Catch-22 with trying to be honest and trying to get through the application. Any suggestions?
This reply is from 2017... and not very insightful. I used to commute to the US before the pandemic. But now I am stuck in Asia if I want to keep my job. Staying in Asia full time is... not working out so well, so I am looking to get a job back in the States. Since UPS does the selection process entirely remotely, I'd like to apply. But I also don't want to run afoul of hiring policy.
Anybody have some additional information on applying while overseas?
Thanks!

Not sure if others will agree with me but yes, I’d have applied using a US mailing address.
UPS doesn’t have a rule where you must’ve resided in the US in the last 5 years in order to apply. FedEx does but that’s because of their postal contract requirements.
I’d imagine our requirement is based on the fact corresponding with a prospective newhire would be so much easier if they needed to correspond with you via mail. They use emails anyways so...
Something to consider - for the last ~7 years almost every single ‘heavy’ class we’ve had included people who worked at Emirates, Qatar, Saudia, Korean, Cathay, All Nippon, Skymark, Shenzhen Airlines and other overseas based airlines. Many of those jobs are non-commutable and I think ups knows that.
We are hiring today but who knows about tomorrow? So apply while you can.
I’d say apply, keep working on getting a call and when you do, explain your situation in greater detail while in person. You can “blame” the no-commuting-allowed situation on covid, if needed.
Good luck to you!
