I am still very thankful either way and appreciate the constant roller coaster ride of info.
You sound very frustrated. Yeah, ups will do that to you... LOL!
This is how our company functions, they don't like to share more than they have to with the riff-raff driving their planes.

Some of the commenters here are senior captains who've been around the block for a while, other might work in the training department and/or are personal friends with some of the HR folks; the rest of us are certified tea-leaf readers.

They probably won't be able to give you their sources but if you really want actual information then try to call the HR. I'm sure they'll be very helpful...

Seriously though, sorry we can't help more. This is a pilot-to-pilot help line, we try to share with you all what we know or think that we know..

Our HR is severely undermanned and they're probably using Windows 3.0 software. The good news is that they've finally received funding for 56k dial-up modem upgrades! So things are moving in the right direction..

Can anyone hired recently confirm whether or not UPS does an in house medical for new hires? Or is a first class medical all that is required for employment.

I know back in the day American did a medical, I don't know whether they still do however. Thanks.

They did an in-house medical almost to the end of 2006. I don't believe they did it to the 2007 hires or any after.

No company medical from August 2006 and on.. The ADA act and potential lawsuits put an end to company medicals at most airlines. If you can get 1st class FAA medical you're good to go..

It's ongoing...
Some people have received the "your application has expired" email and some people have not.

Do you happen to know if those who are "active" get flushed too?

I'm not connected to HR...but it is probably safe to say if you haven't interviewed and been placed into the hiring pool you need to reapply for 2017.
