A big day for a lot of you guys. Congrats to those that are sitting in some SDF hotel tonight, nervous about starting tomorrow. It's a long way to the bottom and we are all glad to see you here. Do not ever doubt the commitment of your new IPA brothers and sisters, you're one of us now. You will have many big challenges ahead of you in your career here, remembering how happy you are in the next few weeks will go a long way to smoothing over some of the rough edges in the years ahead.
Congratulations as well on the eve of our bid closing to the 205 new captains and others waiting to see what tomorrow's bid closing brings. It's been a long time, too long, but it's nice to see our engine starting to spool up again.
Let's all keep our fingers crossed that this is just the start of something big!

UPS' hiring practices
After 28 years here in The Workers' Paradise®, one thing I will always give UPS is that they do an awesome job of picking the right people. Varied backgrounds, varied experience but I can count on one hand - with fingers left over - the number of fellow crewmembers I've had issues with in my time here. And one of those was senior enough to hold 75 Captain and he quit to be a DL F/E! I still laugh at that.
My last long airline employment had 10% the pilots we do and 10 times the jerks!
Congratulations and welcome!!!
