I would guess those are very average numbers. Military guys are anywhere from 2500-3500 on average, the airline guys are all easily 10,000 hours or more, and the charter/fractional/corporate guys all seem to be right about average, give or take a thousand. I would guess those numbers are fairly accurate averages.

Hey, FTFF, I started in the Jan 30 class. 10,100 total, 3,700 pic in 767 and DC10, bachelors. I know this is prob wrong forum, but read a post earlier that has been bothering me. There are 25 highly qualified new hires in this class that wanted more than anything to be here, not 25 pilots that were passed up by the "top tier" pax airlines. I don't foresee any of us having trouble in training. It depresses me to think that when I do get on the line I might be flying with a captain that thinks I'm only here because no other airline would hire me. That being said, I am excited to be here. I want to thank the IPA for the contract we have now, I understand the fight the pilots had to get it. Thanks for listening, look forward to being online!

First, congrats! It's not exactly easy to get on here. And thanks for sharing your stats, it really helps others gauge their progress/chances. With all your 767/DC10 time I'm sure you got awarded the....Airbus??
As for the rest, I was bothered by some of the posts too and hope it was clear that I was on your side in calling BS on the negativity re: caliper of newbs. Myself and other newhires can attest to the downright exceptional treatment we've been shown by seasoned IPA guys, often to the chagrin of our livers.

I kid, I kid. We're all very excited to see some fresh blood and enthusiastic faces come to a job most of us probably don't appreciate as much as we should. They are tough task masters but over time they reward us well and just like life in general, it's up to each of us to make our own pleasures. Some people are better at that than others.
